ESCHE advises shareholders on sale of Sushi Circle

Esche Schümann Commichau has advised the shareholders of Sushi Circle Gastronomie GmbH on its sale to Zensho Holdings. For Zensho Holdings, this also marks its entry into the German market.

Sushi Circle was founded in 1997 and brought sushi to Germany with the first Kaiten restaurant. Today, the company is represented as a catering service provider with over 240 sushi islands in German food retail outlets. Sushi Circle is therefore one of the major players in the industry and employs around 700 people.

Zensho Holdings is the largest food service provider in Japan and is one of the top 10 global food service providers with more than 10,000 outlets worldwide and a group turnover of € 5.5 billion.

ESCHE advised the shareholders comprehensively on the sale. Dr Götz Triebel (Partner/Corporate) was the lead partner. Also involved were Dr Robert Kroschewski (Partner/Tax), Dr Jens-Christian Schott (Associate/Corporate) and Tobias Georg Sacher (Associate/Tax).
