Training opportunity on the German General Act on Equal Treatment (Allgemeines Gleichbehandlungsgesetz, AGG)

The German General Act on Equal Treatment, applicable since 2006, obliges companies to create a working environment free from discrimination. What does this Act mean for employers?

Employers are liable for damages and compensation even in the absence of any fault on their part if employees or applicants are being discriminated against by their supervisors or colleagues within the meaning of the AGG. Training employees in a timely manner and being able to show that such training has taken place minimizes the risk of liability.

Since 2006, affords every company – regardless of size – the opportunity to train all employees in accordance with the AGG via e-learning in a flexible manner and within a short time, including the provision of a certificate, for a fixed price and predetermined time at their workplace.
