Girls’ & Boys’ Day 2026 at ESCHE: An insight into legal careers in Hamburg

On 23 April 2026, ESCHE once again opened its doors for the nationwide Girls’ & Boys’ Day and welcomed 13 pupils from Years 6 and 7 at various schools in Hamburg. The participants – from grammar schools, secondary schools and community schools – took the opportunity to gain an authentic insight into careers in law and business.

Following a brief introduction and tour of the offices, our partner Dr Christian Hoppe gave a presentation that vividly illustrated the work of an interdisciplinary law firm. The direct exchange with staff members, who provided insights into their day-to-day work and personal career paths, was also particularly valuable.

The focus was on active participation: through interactive activities – ranging from Q&A sessions to creative career-orientation exercises – the pupils were able to reflect on their own interests. A highlight was the simulated ‘court case’, in which they developed their own arguments, took on roles and worked out solutions together. The day concluded with a reflection session and a group pizza dinner.

ESCHE regularly takes part in Girls’ & Boys’ Day to offer young people early career guidance and to foster an interest in legal, tax and economic topics.
